A Staff Accountant is needed for a well-known company based in Monterey. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, assisting with month-end close responsibilities, reporting, and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform G/L functions and journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits, providing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices related to grant management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience with some grant exposure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
