The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance and advisory services for a wide range of clients. As a key member of the firm, the Tax Manager will manage tax projects, ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, and provide strategic guidance on tax planning and optimization. A CPA certification is required for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Review and manage tax filings for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all tax-related matters.
  • Proactively address client inquiries, providing timely, effective solutions to tax issues.
  • Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance on complex tax matters and ensuring their professional development.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate relevant updates to clients.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to support client strategies and business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active CPA license.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Must reside within a 200-mile radius of Monterey County to attend meetings in person as needed.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Experience working with corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tax software
