A Senior Accountant is needed on a direct hire basis for a well-known company based in San Diego. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for daily accounting and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and post accurate journal entries for month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, such as cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable on a monthly basis to ensure all discrepancies are identified and resolved.
• Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring that all transactions are properly recorded and accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports by providing supporting documentation and analysis for income statement and balance sheet items.
• Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but work equivalency will suffice.
• Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
