A well-known agriculture company based in Salinas is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in assisting with the month-end and G/L functions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger functions and ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial records.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports or statements.
• Coordinate and complete the annual audit.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and relevant regulations.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed.
• Reconcile bank and account statements and support cash flow management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but work equivalency will suffice.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
