A prestigious luxury retail and manufacturing conglomerate, is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to step into a newly created management role within their expanding team. This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated and hands-on leader to oversee a team of 10+ accounting and finance professionals. As the Director of Accounting, you will play a key role in shaping the financial direction of the company and work closely with senior management across departments.

This role requires professionals coming directly from public accounting or a mix of public and private accounting experience. The ideal candidate must possess a CPA, or be actively in the process of obtaining their CPA license in the upcoming months. Experience in manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, or related industries, particularly with inventory accounting, is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of 10+ accounting and finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
• Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and inventory accounting
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies across the organization
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, with a focus on inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS)
• Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership on all accounting-related matters, providing financial insights and strategic recommendations
• Provide mentorship and development opportunities for team members, encouraging continuous improvement and career growth
• Play a key role in the company's overall financial strategy, including process improvements, systems upgrades, and long-term financial planning
• Manage audit processes and work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure the integrity of financial reporting
• Present key financial results to senior leadership, offering clear, actionable insights to drive decision-making

What We’re Looking For:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA required, or actively in process of obtaining CPA)
• 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role
• Must have management experience in companies with a revenue of $100M or more
• Strong background in public accounting or a combination of public and private accounting, preferably with experience in manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, or related industries
• Significant experience in inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), financial reporting, and month-end close processes
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership and other key stakeholders
• A proactive, hands-on leader with a strategic mindset and the ability to drive results across a diverse team
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
