Our client is a leading provider of credit solutions, specializing in commercial real estate and equipment financing. They are committed to delivering innovative financial products and services to clients across various industries. This role is located in Brentwood / Santa Monica, CA (Los Angeles) area.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of accounting staff members.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Manage GL functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
- Collaborate with the CFO to prepare accurate monthly financial statements and other financial reports.
- Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency, enhance internal controls, and implement accounting best practices across the organization.
- Support bank audits and financial audits, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Assist the CFO in managing bank relationships and providing bank reporting.
- Work closely with the CFO on financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support key business decisions.
- Oversee journal entries for day-to-day and month-end financial reporting, including integration from LeaseWorks lending platform to QuickBooks.
- Manage the 1099 filing process and ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Ensure adherence to company’s accounting policies and internal control procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (with accounting coursework).
- CPA license preferred, or significant progress towards obtaining CPA certification.
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in leading accounting teams and managing accounting operations.
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and operations accounting.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Familiarity with SQL or Access is a plus.
- Expertise with automated accounting systems, with experience in QuickBooks preferred.
