A well-known, national corporation in the financial services industry is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function within their LA based asset management team. This role will focus on managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings industry expertise and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee the month-end close and reporting functions alongside the controller.
• Support variance analysis in collaboration with the finance team.
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting processes, and financial systems.
• Manage cash flow forecasting to support investment activity.
• Work closely with investment, operations, and executive teams to provide financial support and insights.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff to ensure high performance and accuracy.
• Assist with finance-related projects, including system upgrades and process automation as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Must have previous financial services industry experience in some capacity.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Experience in asset management, investment firms, or a financial services environment is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
