An Accounting Manager is needed on a direct hire basis for a leading, national food manufacturing corporation based in the Bronx. The Accounting Manager will primarily focused on supporting corporate accounting operations and corporate decision-making through robust process oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the financial liaison between plant operations and corporate finance, providing insight into financial performance, cost drivers, and operational KPIs.
  • Oversee cost accounting processes including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Support the preparation and review of plant-level P&Ls, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with GAAP and corporate policies.
  • Analyze manufacturing trends and operational metrics to identify risks and opportunities for cost savings and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain leadership on productivity initiatives, capital investment planning, and working capital management.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement projects related to systems, reporting, and automation.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requirements, ensuring strong controls and documentation are in place.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior accountants or analysts where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial operations experience, ideally within a large-scale food or CPG manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, standard cost systems, and inventory management.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent); advanced Excel skills required.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
